What is Bloqia and what is it for?
Bloqia is an app for homeowners' communities. It brings together neighbor chats, legally compliant voting and elections, meeting minutes and document storage, bookkeeping, and maintenance requests. Everything you currently try to handle with a WhatsApp group, a paper folder, and an Excel spreadsheet, now in one place.
Does it work with our property manager?
Yes, and it works great! Property managers have their own dedicated role, allowing them to manage multiple communities and joint associations from a single account. It gives them a streamlined communication channel with neighbors, reducing phone calls and random WhatsApp messages. And if your community is self-managed, Bloqia is perfect for you too.
How do voting and elections work?
Each household gets one vote, with results fully transparent to all neighbors (just like an in-person meeting). Presidential elections or no-confidence motions are automatically tallied and closed once quorum is reached. For extra security, you can require phone verification for voters.
Where are my community's minutes and finances stored?
They are kept in secure, official folders (Minutes, Meetings, Contracts, Renovations, Deeds, and Invoices). They cannot be deleted accidentally, and any removal requires board approval and is fully logged. All data is securely hosted within the European Union (Madrid).
Can other neighbors see my phone number or name?
No. On Bloqia, you are identified by your unit (e.g., “Apt 2B”) unless you choose to show your name. Your phone number and email are never shared with other neighbors—unlike in a WhatsApp group.
How much does Bloqia cost?
Getting started is completely free. The community can later choose to upgrade to a paid plan for advanced features, such as automated receipt scanning for bookkeeping. During our beta phase, all features are entirely free.
